Our Services

We pride ourselves in providing culturally sensitive assessments that take into consideration the background and lived experience of the families we work with and how this impacts on the way in which they choose to parent their children. Thus making our assessments and recommendations holistic and specific to the needs of the family.

We are extremely experienced in our fields and can complete the following assessments:

Family

PAMS Assessments

PAMs assessments created by Dr Sue Mcgrath accurately assess parenting capacity and compiles this data into a detailed report which can presented in court as evidence of adequate parenting capabilities or the lack thereof.

This assessment takes longer than a standard parenting assessment although provide more in-depth insight into a parent’s skills, abilities, areas of potential improvement and the capacity to make the necessary changes.

The assessment is accessible for parents who have learning difficulties, mental health difficulties or alternative vulnerabilities giving them a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge and parenting skills. but provide more in-depth insight.

Teaching PAMS Assessments

The Teaching PAMS uses the same PAMS assessment created by Dr Sue Mcgrath, although it has 3 stages to this assessment.

An initial PAMS would be completed to asses generate and interim report which highlights the parents base line functioning and  the areas in which the parent needs further assessment or a teaching program.

We then support the parent through the work that they have been recommended by offering regular coaching and mentoring, frequency would depending on the need and this will be agreed with the client following the initial PAMS assessment.

This will last no more than 12 weeks, after which a further PAMS assessment would be completed to assess the progress made by the parent. A full report will be completed at the end of the second PAMS assessment.

ParentAssess

ParentAssess is a framework developed by Sarah Lowe for assessing parents who have learning disabilities and other additional needs within child protection and childcare proceedings.

It uses a number of specific visual tools to assess both the emotional and practical aspects of parenting and seeks to identify both the strengths and concerns. The traffic light system means the assessment outcomes are measurable and easy to read.

The framework can be used where children remain with their parents or where the children have been placed in foster care and supervised contact is in place.
